La base de données sur les écrits d’André Bazin (« BAZ-IN »), qui fait l’objet dans l’article d’une première présentation publique en deux tableaux, décompte actuellement, en dehors des quelques ouvrages contresignés ou posthumes, 2 544 articles sur les 194 repris à ce jour en ouvrage. Seul 5,27 % de l’œuvre complète de cet admirable écrivain est aujourd’hui disponible, en attendant la prochaine anthologie par les éditions des Cahiers du cinéma (qui se limitera probablement à en publier 40 %). À cette approche froide, Hervé Joubert-Laurencin évoque et donne l’exemple d’une approche chaude des textes, que la première permet, micrologique, attentive aux images transportées par le détail des textes. Le texte bazinien, mélange d’évocation et d’invocation, prouve par lui-même que son auteur est l’écrivain-type de cinéma, autrement dit l‘homme de la revue.

The database on André Bazin’s writings (“ BAZ-IN”), the subject in the article of a first public presentation in two parts, presently includes, besides a few countersigned or posthumous works, 2 544 articles of which only 194 have been published in book form to this day. Only 5.27 % of the complete work of this admirable writer are available today, until the publication of the upcoming anthology by the Cahiers du cinéma editions (probably no more than 40 % will be included). As a complement to this factual approach, Hervé Joubert-Laurencin evokes and gives the example of another perspective on the texts, based on it and micro-logical, mindful of the images conveyed by the details of the texts. The Bazinian text, a mixture of evocation and invocation, is ample evidence in itself that its author is the very type of the cinema writer, in other words a man of the periodical.
