Spanish magazines after Franco : Interview with Miguel Riera

Evoking the present situation of cultural magazines in Spain, Miguel Riera (director of the ASEI, the Asociación de Editores de lnformación, regrouping approximately 40 cultural magazines) describes how following the developments during the latter part of Franco’s rule, a number of magazines disappeared due to fragile readership and competition from the special editions of the daily press. He indicates how the ASEI sought in this context to promote a coherent policy of public and private aid to magazines. Complementing this : an interview with Juan Antonio Rodriguez Tous, director of the philosophy magazine Er, published in Seville since 1985.
