Arthur Adamov’s L’Heure Nouvelle 1945-1946

The article analyses the role played by editor Léon Pierre-Quint in publishing L’Heure Nouvelle and the vicissitudes of the journal. In a post-ward world of shattered certainties, Adamov and his friends (Marthe Robert, Antonin Artaud), engaged as they were in denouncing their time, failed to open up a fermenting space for new standards and to define their place amidst the production of publications dominated by Les Temps Modernes. After two successful issues it grew to become marginalised and disappeared.
