Ord & Bild, le drakkar suédois

par William Fovet
1992, in La Revue des revues no 14

Ord & Bild turned 100 in 1991. In the 1890s, its declared goal was already to present an entertaining outlook on all aspects of cultural life in Sweden, but readership remained scarce and upper-class. Significant changes successfully took place in the 1960s, and young writers were offered a much-needed springboard for futher careers. Today Ord & Bild still steers its course to a satisfactory compromise between tradition and avant-garde.
