Sur les Cahiers du Sud. Extraits de lettres de Joë Bousquet à Jean Paulhan

Claire Paulhan actually prepares the edition of several thousand letters written by Joë Bousquet and Jean Paulhan in a long correspondence dating from 1929 up to Bousquet’s death in 1950. Here she presents seven letters from 1943 to 1945 written by Bousquet to Paulhan concerning the Cahiers du Sud and his sometimes difficult relationship to its editor, Jean Ballard.
All the three of them have, in different ways, participated in the Résistance but differ largely in their concepts and choices on litterature and especially poetry. Ballard is moqued at because of his aspiration of a more important editorial career thinking at one time to leave Marseille for Paris, which Bousquet finds unjustified.
