Les liens qu’entretiennent la revue et l’institution sont complexes. L’institution génère la revue. La revue s’incarne parfois en institution. Le temps est le paramètre nécessaire à l’évolution de l’un vers l’autre. Au vrai, à travers l’étude des revues de théâtre, notamment Théâtre Populaire et L’Art du théâtre, l’enjeu recouvre pourtant et souvent, seulement, le discours : sa nature, sa visée, sa configuration, son lien à la marge et au désir. Entre discours institutionnel et parole libre, entre institution décrétée et institution symbolique, l’espace de la revue apparaît alors comme le théâtre de pratiques d’écriture tantôt ouvertes à la pensée exploratoire, au tâtonnement de la recherche, à l’aventure ; tantôt contraintes par le discours exclusif d’un savoir qui demeure, de fait, contingent.
Toto and the V-Effect. Periodicals and Institutions : Variations
The connections between a periodical and an institution are complex. The institution generates the periodical. The periodical sometimes turns into an institution. Time is the necessary parameter for an evolution from one to the other. Yet in reality, as one may see by studying theatrical periodicals, in particular Théâtre Populaire and L’Art du théâtre, what is at stake is often no more than a matter of speech : its nature, purpose, configuration, its relationship with the fringe and with desire. Between institutional discourse and free speech, between decreed institution and symbolical institution, the space of the periodical appears as a theatre for writing practices that are sometimes open to exploratory thought, to the experimentations of research, to adventure, and sometimes restrained by the exclusive discourse of a knowledge that remains, in fact, contingent.
